Dear Friends and Kind-Hearted Supporters,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my best friend, Jake, who has been through an incredibly tough journey over the past few months. In November 2024, Jake suffered another fall—something we initially thought was just another symptom of his Meniere’s Disease. However, after undergoing unexpected tests, doctors delivered shocking news: Jake had a brain tumor.

In December, Jake underwent surgery, and while he’s making progress, his road to recovery has been anything but easy. He continues to struggle with facial paralysis and difficulty speaking, and he relies on a walker to get around. Unfortunately, he was unable to continue his much-needed physical therapy. Despite all this, Jake was discharged home—where he lives alone with his emotional support cat, RDC.

Fast forward to March 28th, and Jake received another blow: his employer informed him that his FMLA leave had expired. He is not yet physically capable of returning to work, and doctors estimate he will need at least another three months to recover. With no current income, he is applying for unemployment, short-term disability, and any financial assistance available, but these processes take time.

Jake needs immediate support to help cover his basic necessities—rent, bills, food, and transportation. He has no means of getting groceries unless someone takes him, and every bit of assistance can make a world of difference during this challenging time.

We are reaching out to our community in the hopes of raising enough funds to help Jake get by until he receives financial assistance. With the cost of living rising, we know this is a difficult time for many, but any contribution—big or small—would mean everything to Jake.
