Just when we hoped the hardest part was behind us, our family is facing another surgery and several more months of recovery.

Eric’s kidney transplant last August was an incredible miracle, and we are so grateful for the gift of that new kidney. But his two original kidneys, severely affected by polycystic kidney disease, are still causing constant pain and complications. His doctors have now scheduled another surgery to remove both of them.

While we’re hopeful this will finally allow Eric to fully recover and move forward, it also means more time before he can return to work. He hasn’t been able to work since before his transplant in August, and this surgery will likely keep him recovering for at least another three months, possibly longer.
