Recovery After Hurricane Helene

Hello! My name is Andy and I am a 22-year-old homeowner in St. Pete, FL. Growing up in FL, I have admittedly become too comfortable with hurricane season and with the lack of preparing for it. Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene has left me without power and with moderate damage to my home for nearly a week. I have been living in temporary housing with my sister and two dogs for the last week, which has added up quickly.

As this is my first time utilizing homeowner’s insurance, I was not aware that my deductible would be percentage-based rather than a fixed amount to repair the damages to my home. This fundraiser is meant to help with the cost of my deductible along with the temporary housing given that I’m not 100% sure my insurance will cover my displacement. It is also meant to help with the loss of work I experienced due to the lasting effects of Helene on my community and my home.
