Our names are Suzanne and Jonathan Hannau and we are a married couple of musicians who live in the north side of Chicago. Back in February, our dog Hildegard had emergency life saving surgery after it was discovered that she had a mass on her spleen that had ruptured and caused internal bleeding. While she almost passed away, the doctors were able to stabilize her, give a blood transfusion, and remove the mass. Even better, the mass turned out to not be cancer and she has since made a full recovery. We are incredibly thankful to the team over at Med Vet and are so happy she is still in our lives (She is our most goodest dog).

While we in no way regret moving forward with our decision to save her life, it did unfortunately come with a steep financial burden that has impacted our lives. The surgery cost $12,000 and while we have pet insurance, they only covered $5000 for the procedure, leaving us make up the rest of the cost.

So, while we didn't want to do a crowdfund campaign, it became difficult to think of other ways forward since we are two musicians working to make ends meet in a volatile industry. Many of our friends recommended it, so here we are. We are hoping to raise $5000 to help pay off the bills we owe the hospital.
