Aid for Hasani Family Facing Cancer Crisis

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

My name is Leilani and I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart on behalf of my dear friend, Rashid Hasani, and his family.

Rashid and I have been close friends for over 15 years. We've shared many seasons of life together—but none as heartbreaking as the one his family is facing now.  I also wanted to share the story about this remarkable 14-year-old boy, a son, a brother, a friend, and a fighter. Hasib is your typical teenager in many ways. He loves soccer, finds joy in playing games on his computer, and gets lost in virtual adventures on his Meta Quest headset (TheFartMaestro). He has a big imagination, a big heart, and a love for life that’s always been contagious. As the second child in his family, Hasib looks up to his older sister, Mahin, and brings endless light into the lives of his parents.

But in 2023, Hasib’s world changed forever when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. Since then, this brave young soul has undergone numerous treatments, fought countless battles with courage, and never stopped smiling through it all.

Today, Hasib is under hospice care. It’s a reality no parent should ever have to face—but despite everything, we haven’t given up. Our hearts are still full of hope. We are still praying for a miracle. Hasib continues to inspire us every day with his strength, his love, and his unwavering spirit.

As you can imagine, this has taken a tremendous emotional and financial toll on the Hasani family. His mother, Mirriam, left her job to care for Hasib full-time, and Rashid has been doing everything he can to hold his family together while also trying to make ends meet.

This GoFundMe is to support Hasib’s family—emotionally, spiritually, and financially—during this incredibly difficult time. The Hasanis have been by Hasib’s side every step of the way, sacrificing work, time, and energy to care for their son, and they shouldn't have to face this hardship alone.  Donations will go toward:

Support services for Hasib and his sister

Allowing Rashid and Mirriam to stay by their son’s side without the added stress of financial strain
