Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this. This holiday season has been incredibly difficult for my family. In a very short span of time, we’ve experienced multiple life-changing events that we were completely unprepared for.

 On Christmas Eve, we received the news that my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has two tumors, and once her biopsy is completed, she will need to begin treatment almost immediately. Just days later, our family suffered another devastating loss.

My uncle, who had been hospitalized after a heart attack on Thanksgiving and appeared to be recovering well, passed away unexpectedly the day before New Year’s Eve. His passing was sudden and traumatic, and we were not prepared for the emotional or financial impact that followed.

 To make matters even more difficult, my father — who has been helping support my grandmother — was recently notified that he will be laid off from his job at the beginning of February.

Everything has happened so quickly that we are still trying to process it all. We are now facing significant expenses related to my uncle’s funeral, which is estimated to cost around $30,000 for services, land, and related arrangements. At the same time, we are preparing for the unknown costs associated with my grandmother’s cancer treatment.

 I am not someone who asks for help easily, but at this point, my family truly needs it. Any contribution, no matter the amount, would help ease the financial burden and allow us to focus on supporting one another during this incredibly painful time.
