I am putting together this GoFundMe for Lori who has had a really tough run of luck with her dogs that has exhausted her resources. Her whippet Fizz has an unknown infection/injury that is causing worsening necrosis of the skin on her leg. She has been to multiple vets to diagnose and try to get her on the track to healing but it is taking its toll. Every little bit helps, and if there is anything left over from this fundraiser after Fizz's expenses, it will be donated to Whippets pay it forward for the care of other dogs in need.
From Lori:
Never have I thought I would have to do make a go fund me account, but here I am at the end of my resources humbly asking you for help.
My dog Fizz got a 3 inch laceration earlier in December that required sutures and then it progressively went south from there.
Her leg became 3 times the size of the other, and tissue on her leg necrosed, requiring her to go to have a good portion of the skin on her inside leg debrided and requiring daily bandage changes that are quite expensive because she has to be sedated every time. She has been cultured to try to identify the "bug" that is causing her to have such a complication and are awaiting results.
In the meantime, My cards are maxed because about a month ago, my other dog, had to have major surgery that required extensive diagnostics and surgery from Blue Pearl and exhausted the insurance benefits till next Feburary. Our family still hadn't recovered from that hit to our finances, and now this happened to our 18 month old Whippet puppy, Fizz.
She is a wonderful, loving dog who has been showing me so much promise as a sport dog. She is driven and loves to do all the things. She loves every person she meets. It really breaks my heart to see her this sick.
I don't know the odds of having 2 dogs with catastrophic injuries that require extensive vet care so close together are, but apparently I won that "lottery".
If you could find it in your heart to help me get Fizz the care she needs, I would be so grateful.
Thank you for your consideration.
