My name is Jo'el Fitzpatrick and I am the eldest son of Bill and Rosie Fitzpatrick and was born and raised in Nipomo, CA. We are seeking support for my parents who tragically on December 25th lost their house to a fire. They were inside with two of their sons (Jordan and Justen) and daughter-in-law (Jen) and were awoken by fire and smoke. The quick actions of everyone aided in their harrowing escape in the dark of night. The advanced nature of the fire and smoke left no time to think or act, and they found themselves outside with little other than what they had on. The valiant efforts of the firemen led to a containment, and only a single structure was lost. Unfortunately, that single structure was my parents' house and everything inside. They found themselves present-less and homeless on Christmas morning.

Fortunately, they have insurance, but that takes time, may not cover everything, and they are facing immediate needs and costs. Clothes, shoes, medications, toiletries, food, cell phone chargers, and everything else needed in day-to-day life was lost. The travel back and forth from their hotel and the house, shopping for lost items, and trying to put their life back together since Christmas morning has been difficult.

Bill and Rosie's house was a place many called home. An open door and a family meal were a common occurrence. The Fitzpatrick home served as a gathering place that all knew and loved.
