Aid for Felicia's Damaged Shop Recovery
Donation protected
Hello loved ones!
My name is Yaw Fosuhene and I am helping raise funds on behalf of my mother, Madam Felicia Asantewaa.
On Sunday, January 19, at about 5 a.m., illegal miners in Obuasi, a mining community in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, invaded a mining concession belonging to Anglogold Ashanti Limited. Soldiers from the Ghana Armed Forces assigned to protect these concessions shot and killed about eight of these illegal miners. The illegal miners became irate and destroyed vehicles belonging to the mining company.
The unfortunate incident is that one of the vehicles was burnt in front of our shop and spread to it. The shop had just been restocked in anticipation of Valentine’s Day. We were not able to retrieve a single item from the aftermath. Currently, estimated damages are about $10,000, which basically consists of rebuilding and restocking the shop so my mom can get back on her feet.
My mother has owned and operated this shop for about 10 years now and this is her life. This shop holds a special place in her heart as this is her only source of income and some special moments have been made at this location.
The link below is an article that details the whole situation.

We are fundraising to help rebuild our shop and recover from this devastating loss. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
