Yesterday, Immigration and Custom officials conducted four raids at Mississippi poultry producers, identifying and temporarily detaining 648 individuals suspected of being in the country illegally.  Those who had no known criminal record have been released and reunited with family members, and are awaiting a court date.  In the meantime, they are prohibited from working, resulting in a real human need.

While the immigration questions in our country are complicated and draw a wide variety of responses, the Christian obligation to love people is simple.  During this period of uncertainty, the Scott County Baptist Association has taken on responsibility for coordinating aid for affected families in Forest and the broader community.  Any donations made to this page will be sent to the Scott County Baptist Association.
