I want to thank everyone for helping us create a safe and comfortable room for Erik. Medically speaking, Erik is exhibiting signs of moderate dementia, which is more advanced than beginning stages. Our current course of treatment is to establish a predominantly calm and comfortable state of mind for Erik through medication. He has been on two prescriptions since his stay in the hospital, and they have been working. However, he was seen by a neurologist last week who thought it was best to stop those medications completely and begin two other medications. I tried twice over the past 5 days to transition from one medicine group to the other. This was not the right thing to do. Within a day and a half, Erik's agitation and aggression went through the roof. So now we're readjusting to the initial medicine group with which he started. Anyone who knows me knows how difficult it is for me to ask for help, but we are struggling to pay our bills this month. Multiple doctor visits plus the issues with our truck just really set us back. Any help is much needed and appreciated.
