Aid for Ericka's Burn Recovery

Hello everyone!

If you don't know me, my name is Ericka... the girl who wants to be a wrestler some day. (@erickadaze on instagram)

On Wednesday, May 7th, I had a freak work related accident which resulted in second and third degree burns all over my left leg from my thigh to the top of my foot. The ER transferred me over to Loyola's Burn ICU where I stayed for two nights. They peeled off (like, by hand) my dead and excess skin and started me on pain killers and vashe treatments right away. They were discussing skin grafts but thank God they decided it would be unnecessary for the size of the areas which are third degree! My boyfriend and I have tag teamed taking care of my wounds since then and I think we're doing a great job. I have a follow up on Friday to see how much work will be missed, which has already been estimated to be at least a month. PT is next to stretch my regrowing skin and bring back mobility to my knee.

I feel selfish making this fundraiser as I know there's so many more people suffering in our world today that could use help. I more so made this for any family members that wanted to help me out during this hard time or anyone who happens to come across it and drop a dollar or two. I don't expect to fully meet the goal set here, I'm just here to ask for assistance in paying my everyday bills and buying food (I'm supposed to be eating a ton for healing! ) Worker's comp is only giving me 2/3rds of my average paycheck every two weeks which, unfortunately in my case, is only going to add up to around $200 biweekly. Comp also doesn't start for a few weeks and I'm struggling to pay my bills and have upcoming vet bills for Alphonse (my doggo). I'll try to keep this page updated as much as possible.
