Aid for Ed Adamski's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
My name is Stephen Beebe and I am starting this GoFundMe to help my niece with funeral expenses for her father, my brother. Here is her story via Facebook:

I am not one to post much, but I am asking for all the prayers right now as I navigate a very hard chapter in my life. My father, Ed Adamski, has been in the hospital since February. He went in with a toe infection and ended up having half his left leg amputated. In March, he had open-heart surgery with a quadruple bypass for a valve replacement. It was successful, but the day after, he suffered a cardiac arrest due to a blockage in the valve. They were able to go back in and put a stent in and restore flow. He was sedated and ventilated for weeks after. He finally got the sedation lifted and was on the somewhat mend that they decided to do a tracheostomy because he was uncomfortable being intubated and was no longer on full vent assistance, but was just getting minor assistance from it when needed. That all went well and weeks later (last week), he was stable and able to be transported to a rehab facility. Unfortunately, the only one he could go to was in Binghamton, as they were the most qualified to handle a vent patient. He got there Friday afternoon and they said he was really tired from the ride there and was pretty lethargic into Saturday. On Sunday, I got a call that he had an incident and that he tried to move himself from his bed to a wheelchair, resulting in him either falling out of bed or hanging off his bed. (Unclear on exactly what happened, but that's a whole other story). Monday, they called me at 3:07 saying he has coded and they were doing CPR. They ended up doing this for 15 minutes. This resulted in him having to be transported to the hospital, where he has since been admitted into the CVICU. Currently, they are saying he has an anoxic brain injury, suffered an acute stroke, and they had to stop his feeding tube as his body isn't absorbing any of it; it's just sitting in the stomach. He isn't responsive to stimulation, and he has no gag reflex or ability to cough. He is able to open and close his eyes and move his jaw, but not meaningfully. As of now, I have met with his palliative care team, and we are discussing the steps moving forward in end-of-life care for my dad. We will be setting up a time for me to go up and say goodbye and make the final call that I am so reluctant and devastated to make. Although my dad and I were on and off estranged, there was always so much love between us, and I am grateful that God put me on this path to be able to be here with him now. If you've read this far, thank you.

We are fundraising to help with funeral expenses for my father, Ed Adamski.
