Thank you for taking the time to learn about my friend Kristyn, her daughter Mems, and their sweet 11-year-old basset hound, Dudley Duke.

If you know Kristyn, you know she’s the kind of person who is always showing up for others — her family, her friends, and her community — and has a huge heart for all animals. Dudley is not “just a dog” to them. He is family.

This past weekend, Dudley had a sudden medical issue that required an emergency trip to the vet in Myrtle Beach, SC. The visit included an exam, X-rays, and medication, and the cost was over $500. Kristyn is a single mom, and that unexpected emergency bill took a huge hit financially — but she did what any loving pet owner would do and made sure Dudley got help immediately.

The next step is follow-up care at Kristyn’s local veterinarian in Georgetown, SC, including a full panel of bloodwork to help determine what’s going on and what Dudley needs moving forward.

Just two weeks ago, Dudley was also seen for a tooth infection (believed to be unrelated to this new issue), so this has been a tough and expensive season for them — especially all at once, especially directly after the holidays.
