On December 30, 2025, I (Dov) was fired from my job with no notice and given just two weeks of severance pay. My husband (Ace) had left his job a month prior and was driving for UberEats full time while looking for something new. I started doing deliveries full time as well. We did the math, and we saw that we could just barely get by while looking for better employment if we kept up our driving hours.

Then, on January 12, 2026, my husband got into a car accident, and his car is totaled. He is okay, there are no medical bills thank God, but now we are facing the second half of the month and staring down the bills that come due on the first of February.

Meanwhile, my recruiter isn't returning my calls, but I have found a retail job for now that will at least be stable income while I continue my search. Ace has a few good leads on new jobs and will hopefully be in one by the end of the month. But right now it looks like we will have a major shortfall in our income for the second half of January, and we need help. Anything donated will go towards:

* Helping with rent and utilities

* The deductible on our car insurance

* Phone and internet bills

Any amount over our goal will be used to pay down debt so that doesn't start piling up on us.
