Belmar Hook and Ladder and Spring Lake Heights Fire Company are starting this GoFundMe for our member Donny Zessin and his family. Donny passed away suddenly on March 17th, 2025. He leaves behind his wife Michelle and 2-year-old son Don Jr., as well as his parents, brother, and all the firefighters who had the honor of working with him during his 20+ years of service.

Donny was beloved in all facets of his life. He brought joy, warmth, and positivity to everything he touched. He was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He mentored younger firefighters and served courageously as a firefighter in East Granby, CT, Spring Lake Heights, NJ, and Belmar Hook and Ladder.

It is impossible to describe how much Donny will be missed by all the people in his life. Hopefully, we will all be able to take solace in the time that we were gifted with being a part of his life.

Rest easy, Donny... We will take it from here.

This fundraiser is to help alleviate some of the financial burden for Michelle, Donny's wife. In consultation with Michelle and our GoFundMe assistant Zahra, Michelle has elected for us to put the money into Belmar Volunteer Hook and Ladder's account and then a check will be sent to Michelle once the transfer is complete
