Hello, I'm Julie. My mother, Donna, has had a rough few years. She had stage 4 colon cancer. She beat the cancer with numerous surgeries, chemo, and radiation in 2021. On February 22nd, she went to Minnesota for a very high-risk 11-hour surgery and ended up having 3 surgeries and then got COVID. She came back to Alaska. She went to the doctor for a checkup, only to find out she had to have another surgery. So now she is in Fairbanks and has had 4 more surgeries. She got an infection, and her staples came out of her stomach. She has to be in Fairbanks for a couple of months because she has to go to the hospital every other day to get her wound cleaned and monitor her healing. She is on a machine that circulates her blood to her wound in the middle of her stomach so it will heal faster so they can stitch her back up. She is on a very slow road to recovery. My dad has been with her the whole time. He will not leave her side. So he has been missing work. We all know how expensive it is to stay in town. I would like to raise some money to help with their gas, food, and any medical supplies. My parents are good people and would help anyone they could.
