David Findley has been my partner since 1975; we were married in 1989. He is now suffering from serious dementia and living in a memory care facility in Annandale. It is astonishingly expensive. I myself am disabled with idiopathic ataxia, so taking care of him in our modest condo became very difficult. I’ve started paperwork for David to get Medicaid coverage that would enable him to move to a nursing home. I’ll be honest and admit this is hard to do and nearly something of a last resort that I never thought I would do.
