Hi! I'm Dave and I am asking for any assistance to raise funds to help my wife with her surgery. She wishes to remain anonymous, but I will share a bit of our backstory.
I am a 22-year active duty enlisted military member. I have deployed 16 times to various combat and non-combat locations. My wife is a physical fitness instructor. We have been married 18 years. When our son was born, she required a c-section and since developed diastasis recti. This is a condition where her muscles in her abdomen do not reconnect. This has caused her to carry an excess of about 30 lbs in her mid-section. Over time, this has led to several physical issues both muscular and cosmetic. Her fitness classes have helped, but without the reconnected tissue, the weight and excess skin from the pregnancy will never go away. After many consultations, we have found a surgeon, but the cost is roughly $36,800. I could never ask for that much, but any help would be appreciated.
The cost breakdown is $24,750 for the surgery, and $10,800 for the hospital surgical suite plus anethesia and fees.
We have advocated together through the Tricare network (military insurance program) for the past 16 years and they will not help us since the surgery is considered "cosmetic".
Thank you all very much for your time and consideration!
