My name is Cherokee Karcher. I’ve created a GoFundMe before, but this time I feel like this one will help.

On June 16th at 5:30 in the morning, I went into labor at 36 weeks and 5 days with my third daughter, Dakota Lee. I went to the hospital where, after a few hours, they took me back for a repeat C-section. After getting me prepped, they started surgery and discovered that I was bleeding really badly due to a hole in my uterus, which caused Dakota to be born without a heartbeat. After 30 minutes, they got her back and started cooling therapy to stop any further brain damage that may be caused. After 72 hours, they did an MRI and their concerns were confirmed. Our almost week-old will not be able to live a life without machines or 24/7 care, which is not a life that my husband and I want for our kids. We decided that to keep her from pain and everything that her future would hold to cause pain, we are going to let her be in the sky with all the family we have lost. This was a very hard decision, but we believe this is what is best for her.

That being said, life continues. We want to have her cremated and we want to be able to afford something really nice to put her in. Not only to help us but our 6-year-old who is devastated that she has a sister she will never meet. We also have everyday needs, and I’m still recovering from the C-section. I really didn’t want to create a GoFundMe, as I really didn’t get any luck with my first one. I don’t expect anything.
