Help me get through the summer of unexpected surgeries!

Hey all. My gallbladder randomly decided it should function no longer, putting me out of work for a few weeks and drastically impacting my income for the summer. I’m a new teacher with no savings built up just yet after rebuilding my life last summer. I had the opportunity to work for my favorite clay summer camp again this summer, but unfortunately my gallbladder inflamed the night before camp started. This camp would’ve kept me afloat and housed until I can access student loans through my program (which starts July 26 - I cannot access this until about 10 days after unfortunately)! My immediate need is $785 for the first portion of July’s rent, $116 for electricity, and $200 for groceries. The second half of July is another $550!

unfortunately, my second camp week opportunity is likely to be canceled due to ANOTHER SURGERY (I was trying to schedule it sooner but now with this gallbladder surgery, I can’t!).

Part of the reason I’m behind on medical debt right now is due to missing SO MUCH WORK from constant lung infections. I’ve spent nearly every weekend since February in the hospital battling sinus infections that turn into lung infections (due to autoimmune disease and the impact of the last COVID infection I had in February). I was taking an immune suppressant for my rheumatoid arthritis, which led to longer and more aggressive infections. I have had to stop this important medication to battle the infections and to prepare for the first two surgeries I need to prevent infection risk (especially given my immune condition puts me already at a greater risk). Unfortunately this means my work is severely limited, due to my joints also not functioning. I’m unfortunately unable to take up food service jobs due to severe food allergies that have also hospitalized me this year.

I’m so grateful for all of my friends and family that have supported me through all of this so far this year. At this point, I will only be able to stay housed with help from my community once again.

In addition, due to the addition of insurance benefits FROM my job, I’m now severely behind on medical costs for both myself and my child. Daisy’s medical bills from her two ER visits are around $500. My own outstanding bills are around $200 for a burn that my insurance refused to cover.

Additionally, I’m still dealing with crazy dental work costs and need an immediate two root canals so that I can properly chew again. While I will need a total of 8 crowns and root canals, there are two teeth that are immediately in need due to the inability to chew (approximately $1500 per crown, I don’t even know what the cost of the root canal will be just yet;; I missed my next consult due to this gallbladder situation).
