My 82-year-old dad’s house caught fire on Wednesday, November 12—the home he bought decades ago, where he and his family settled after moving from down the bayous of southeast Louisiana to ‘town’ in Morgan City, Louisiana.

We are tremendously grateful that he and his dog are safe.

The fire damaged 75 percent of the home and is uninhabitable. Like many seniors on a fixed income facing rising costs, he was uninsured.
