Hey folks. Back on February 7th, I was on a job for a local realtor, and I...got attacked, for lack of a better description. The next door neighbor seems to have been in a bad place (there'd been a weird run-in with that same realtor during a showing the night before, that I was unaware of), and his dog had been taken away that morning, before I arrived. Whatever the circumstances behind that are, I don't know, but he did come over as I was getting ready to leave. He had a metal broom handle, and chose to open my truck door, and tell me to come with him. I asked him (politely) to shut the truck door, and he wouldn't. When I got out, he came at me with the broom handle.

Long story short, there was a physical altercation. I got lucky, in that a neighbor across the road saw it happen, and after he got off the phone with 911, he took over holdong the gentleman down (I'd pinned him, and was trying to figure out what the heck was going on). During the altercation, the guy had tried to use his thumb to gouge out my left eye, though. I had to go to the ER that weekend because of a weird little black spot in my field of vision, but they didn't find anything. I still need to get a follow up appointment with my eye doctor, though, and there was some damage to my truck.

I talked to the hospital today, and found out how much THEY'RE gonna charge me, so I'm asking for some help with this. If you know me, you know the past couple years have been rough, and I'm a single father. I don't like to ask for help, I just don't see much alternative.
