Griselda Torres has been with Ballpark since day one. She works both the Line and GoTo every week and is one of the few team members who can seamlessly step in—whether at the front or back—whenever help is needed. She consistently shows up on time, full of energy and dedication.
Tragically, everything changed last week when Griselda learned that her nephew—whom she raised like a son—was involved in a work-related accident. Sadly, he passed away the following day.
I’m asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time, so Griselda has one less thing to worry about and can focus on healing and rebuilding her personal and work life.
Help Us Honor Cristian Torres and Support His Young Son
With deep sorrow, we share the heartbreaking loss of Cristian Torres, a beloved member of our community who had lived in this country for the past 13 years. Cristian tragically passed away in a work-related accident while doing an electrical job — an effort he took on to better support his 4-year-old son.
Cristian was not just a hardworking father — he was a fighter. Despite facing his own physical limitations, he dedicated his life to caring for his little boy, who was born with albinism and serious vision problems. Cristian’s son depended on him for everything.
For the past six years, Cristian worked in maintenance, five hours a day. Recently, he began taking on extra jobs to try to build a better future for his son. On the day of the accident, he had just raised a ladder to start a new job when he accidentally touched an electrical cable. His heart stopped instantly. Though emergency help arrived quickly, Cristian was declared brain dead. He was only 27 years old.
Now, his family is devastated. His son has lost not only a provider but his hero. We are raising funds to help cover Cristian’s funeral expenses and to support the child and family left behind during this unimaginable time.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Even sharing this campaign will help us honor Cristian’s memory and care for the child he loved so deeply.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
