Cassandra Fights to walk again , Guillain-Barre syndrome

Donation protected
My name is Cassandra White, and I'm a 9-year wife and loving mother of two beautiful children. What should have been one of the most joyous moments of my life – the birth of my youngest child – became the beginning of an incredible fight for survival.

During my pregnancy, I developed peripartum cardiomyopathy, a rare form of heart failure that struck just as I was preparing to welcome our newest family member. By the time I went into labor, my heart was functioning at just 10% of its normal capacity (normal heart function is between 50-75%). The delivery became a life-threatening emergency – I nearly lost my life during labor. Through God's grace, while I struggled for my own life, our precious baby was born healthy.

My Journey:

*Four months after giving birth, I required an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) – essentially a mechanical heart pump – to stay alive
*After living with the LVAD for four years, I received the miracle of a heart transplant on June 12th
*What should have been the end of my journey became another beginning in this difficult path

Current Situation:

In addition to numerous complications from the surgery and medication side effects, I've faced severe medical hurdles:

*Developed Guillain-Barré syndrome, leaving me currently temporarily paralyzed
*Spent time on ECMO (life support) and dialysis
*Survived two bouts of sepsis
*Experienced Stage 3 heart rejection

While I'm determined to walk again and my doctors believe I will recover, I need extensive rehabilitation and specialized equipment that insurance won't fully cover.

Immediate Needs:
*Anti-rejection medication copays
*Help with mounting medical bills
* Co-pays for rehab every week

My husband continues to work full-time while also caring for our two young children at home. Despite receiving SSI, with rising costs and mounting medical bills, we're struggling to keep up. Medicare has exhausted its coverage.

Please help us navigate this difficult chapter in our lives. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. If you're unable to donate, sharing my story would mean the world to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our journey. Your support, whether through donations or prayers, gives us hope for a brighter tomorrow.

With profound gratitude, Cassandra White
