Hi! My name is Carolyn Patsch , and Mia is my 10 & 1/2 year old Maltipoo. The picture of her is in her younger years. She basically looks the same except for some graying around her muzzle. I adopted her when she was 1 year old. Mia was born breech, and at delivery, her right leg was injured. Nothing was done to repair her leg. She walks on 3 legs. I call her my “tripod baby”. She has had many health issues and has always bounced back. She loves people and other dogs as long as they don’t get close to me. She is very protective. Her latest health issue occurred in the last few weeks. We thought she had had a seizure. She was having trouble breathing and was very lethargic. We rushed her to the Carolina Emergency Vet where she was immediately put in an oxygen cage which helped with her breathing. Her stay in the hospital was about 7 days. Her treatment included an echocardiogram, regulated meds, etc. It was finally determined that she has pulmonary hypertension. She is being treated with Viagra and other meds. Her medical bill is now over $7,000 dollars. I am a senior woman on a limited income, this is more than I can handle. I’ve set up this gofundme account to help with this expense.
