Aid for Callie, Our Hardworking FedEx Hero
Donation protected
Callie Sims, an independent contractor driver for FedEx was viciously mauled by a dog on 3/5/25 while making a delivery. As she held her van door open against the wind with her foot, a Lab grabbed her by the leg. As she screamed and threw the package at the dog, he continued to maul her, biting her numerous times. The homeowner finally pulled the dog off. She had the fortitude to call 911 & EMS arrived on scene. EMS assessed the gravity of her injuries and immediately took her to BS&W in Brenham while administering oxygen & fentanyl for extreme pain. In the ER, the staff gave more pain meds, including morphine. They attempted to close the bite wounds with staples, but the wounds were so deep and wide, the staples did not completely close them. She was discharged with antibiotics & pain medication.
Since then, Callie has had numerous doctors’ & specialist appointments & a hospitalization that directly resulted from the attack. She has been diagnosed with PTSD & panic disorder, resulting from the attack. She is still in excruciating pain & unable to work.
Callie & her husband are salt of the earth, hard-working people with a beautiful daughter, & they are suffering financially from this horrible experience.
If you are in Grimes or Washington County, you have probably been fortunate enough to have Callie deliver to you. Please consider donating to help Callie & her family during this very difficult time.
