Aid for Brenda: Pete's Medical Battle

My name is Tammy Lampley and I am a very close friend of Brenda Coble, our wonderful baker at Riverside Baking. I have permission from Brenda to set up this fundraiser. Brenda's husband, Pete, was in a bad car accident last night and is now awaiting treatment at UNC Chapel Hill. He has a broken nose, several broken ribs, multiple vertebrae in his back are broken, and a concussion. He is still undergoing several tests. He also has a laceration of his spleen. With that being said, she is with him in the hospital with not only her worries about him and his long road of recovery ahead of him and what that is gonna look like, but she has no vehicle at the moment. Her car is totaled, and she is now processing the realization that she doesn't know how she is going to pay her bills, buy groceries, or even get money to travel back and forth to the hospital. Pete's paycheck has ceased. He will be able to receive FMLA, but that doesn't come with any money. His insurance will only cover some of the hospital expenses. He most likely will need rehabilitation and PT at some point once he recovers from the surgeries. Baking will most likely cease for Brenda temporarily as she struggles to figure out what to do. We are asking anyone who can donate; any amount will be greatly appreciated and put towards food, travel, monthly bills, and medical expenses. Your contribution will be a huge relief of stress, anxiety, and worry for Brenda.

If you know Brenda, you know she is a giving and caring woman. I know from my own experience with her, she will go above and beyond to help you. Baking is her dream and her life, and she loves making people happy through her baking. She has taken orders when she was already overloaded and given out samples of baked goods every chance she can. She did wonderful cake giveaways all year last year. Brenda is a true giver and loves her community and its people deeply. She deserves a helping hand now that she is faced with such an emergency.
