I've seen these requests for help and never thought I'd see the day that I'd be writing one myself. But today I have come to the realization that I am humbling myself to start this...... It is with sadness in my soul and a hope in my heart that I reach out to ask for help. Bobby was in a motorcycle accident on June 21st and was airlifted to a trauma hospital for evaluation. After a few hours and basic trauma scans he was released with "no injuries" and some pain medicine prescriptions.

Unfortunately, "no injuries" was not the correct diagnosis. A few hours later and a fall in the garage, I was racing him back to the local ER. He was combative and his cognitive skills were off. Another set of scans were performed to reveal no broken bones or brain bleeds but they were sending him to a trauma 1 hospital to be further evaluated.

At the trauma hospital he was sedated, intubated and scheduled for an MRI. These tests revealed he had suffered a traumatic brain injury called a shear injury. He has been restrained and kept in a sedated state to allow his brain to begin to heal. We are on day two in the ICU and awaiting neurology's plan for him.

I have been limited as well to assist with him at home after recently having surgery myself for cervical cancer. I know when God closes a door he opens a window. Bobby is self employed and his healing process may be weeks or longer. I am trying my best to provide for us and my family and am here today asking for help.

Whatever you can provide, I am most grateful for, your kind words and prayers have shown me how wonderful people truly are in a world we often forget to stop and breathe in. It's on the exhale that we release this blessing to others.
