Aid for Birds: Vet Care
Tax deductible
We are home to about fifty birds, many of whom are disabled. As our population ages, so does our financial burden. Veterinarian care for our birds costs $20-30,000/year.
Neither of the humans that run the sanctuary takes a salary and we both work outside of the home. We pay our mortgage and other bills so that every single dime we fundraise can go directly back to our birds in the form of food, bedding, enrichment and mostly veterinarian care.
We have birds that are blind, missing limbs, have bullets permanently inside of them, are battling cancer, mobility issues, avian malaria. You name it, we probably have dealt with it! We take on disabled birds specifically as we have the time, education, and love to provide those who will have the most trouble finding good homes.
as of March 2025, we have an existing vet balance of $8,000 and continue to accrue more costs.
