Bhagyalakshmi Deshmukh, a recent graduate from NYU, was coming home to Brooklyn from work on July 1, 2025. She met with an accident at the 45th Street Subway station in Brooklyn. She has lost her right leg from the knee and left leg from the ankle. She also has brain trauma. She is currently undergoing surgeries at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Bhagyalaxmi is out from ICU & is recovering, She is improving every day.

While insurance is helping cover her core medical care, we are raising funds to support expenses not fully covered by her plan, including rehabilitation, prosthetics, and adjustments to daily life. Her parents have come from Pune, India, and are by her side during this life-changing recovery. Their presence is a source of strength, and this fund will help support the added living expenses that come with having them here.

Bhagyalakshmi has always been known for her toughness and spirit. We want to surround her with the support she needs to heal, rebuild, and keep a bright outlook for the future.

Her parents came here from Pune. We are helping them raise funds for her medical payments, which are expected to be significant.

Update (Aug-05):

Bhagyalakshmi is scheduled for two important surgeries tomorrow as part of her recovery process. These procedures mark another big step forward in her journey to healing, and we are keeping her in our thoughts as she continues to show incredible strength.
