My name is Hallie Nowak, and I am raising funds on behalf of my friend, Bayan Al-Othmanah and her five children, including the child she is currently pregnant with. They are innocent Palestinian civilians in the Gaza strip.

Bayan is a 28 year old mother of four, soon to be five, as she is currently pregnant. She contacted me asking for help raising money for her family and herself. Here is what she wrote to me:

“My name is Bayan Al-Othmanah. I live in Gaza. I am 28 years old, a mother of four children, and a woman in her fifth month of pregnancy. I live in a tent made of torn fabrics. I have been displaced many times.

The war destroyed all our dreams and our home. We have lost everything. Our greatest dream now is just to have food. I stand in food lines for hours to get a plate of food for my four children, which is not enough for them. I walk long distances to get drinking water, to bathe, and to do laundry. I am tired. My children go to sleep hungry every night and only eat one meal a day.

My children go to sleep hungry. they only eat one meal a day. I stand in water lines and walk long distances carrying water for drinking and bathing my children. I walk in the streets looking for remnants of nylon and plastic to light a fire to cook food for my hungry children.

I wish we could live in safety and peace. All I hope for is to get money to provide permanent food for my children. I am a pregnant woman and I need food.”

No human being deserves to live the way Bayan and her children are. They are not living, they are merely surviving. All funds raised will go directly to Bayan receiving food, water, medical care, and other basic necessities for the survival of herself and her loved ones.
