Four Lives Lost in Tragic Fire

What was meant to be a joyful family vacation became an unimaginable tragedy.

After more than six months of planning, 12 members of our family traveled to Barahona, Dominican Republic, to spend time together and create lasting memories. Instead, in the early morning hours while everyone was asleep, a devastating fire broke out at the Airbnb where we were staying.

In a matter of minutes, our lives changed forever.

Our beloved 5-year-old boy tragically lost his life.

Our beloved Luzy, Pancracia and Jhoselin sustained severe injuries, including collapsed lungs and second- and third-degree burns. Despite being hospitalized and fighting for their lives, they later passed away.

All 12 members of our family were affected by this tragedy.

Several other family members are still receiving treatment for serious smoke inhalation and respiratory injuries.

As we grieve the heartbreaking loss of our four loved ones, we are also facing overwhelming medical, travel, and recovery expenses. Our family urgently needs support to help cover:

Emergency medical care and hospitalization

Specialized burn treatment, surgeries, and medications

Rehabilitation and long-term recovery care

Funeral and memorial expenses

Travel and lodging for caregivers and family members

Lost wages during this crisis

Transportation of critically injured family members back to Massachusetts for specialized treatment
