This go fund me is for emergency medical bills incurred last night and for follow up expenses. A tenant in our building owns Baily, a 6 year old golden retriever. Baily’s owner was recently hospitalized and Brittany, Jurnie and myself have been taking care of her. Bailey seemed to be eating and drinking less the last day or so. Then yesterday she began throwing up blood. We rushed to an emergency vet in Pittsburgh. Bailey had initial testing that revealed she was anemic and her body was not producing red blood cells as it should. So further testing was ordered. After X-rays, ultrasounds, and blood work it was found that she has lymes disease, a kidney infection and a serious UTI.

The vet recommended that Baily stay for 24-48 hours, with an estimated cost of $4,000 to $7,000. After discussing this with the vet and explaining the situation she came up with a medication regimen that will hopefully get her through this without that being needed. Bailey is home on many things including IV fluids, antibiotics, anti nausea meds, an appetite stimulant and a stomach medicine. The total of her care is $2,744.45 with an additional $400 for her follow up appointment. (This is shown on the invoices plus an additional $633 for her medications which they did not provide a receipt for). We have created this go fund me as we are all college students and do not have the money for this unexpected expense for the neighbors dog however we could not just sit by and not get her seen by a vet.
