We’re reaching out to rally support for our dear friends Vincent and Joni as they face an incredibly difficult and uncertain journey with their newborn son, August. For those reading from our OSC Church Community, you likely have seen Vincent many Sundays lending his musical talents to the OSC band, Joni and him are an invaluable part of our community whom we care deeply for.
Baby August was born on the morning of August 1st at Rancho Springs Hospital, but during delivery, he experienced a severe case of Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS) — This led to a significant loss of oxygen for a period of time.
As a result, August’s entire body was impacted. While some of his organs, like his heart, are thankfully doing well, others are still struggling to heal. He has been transferred to Rady Children’s Hospital NICU, where he will likely remain for weeks or even months as his body works to recover.
There is still a lot of unknown ahead. The long-term implications of what August has experienced are unclear, and his parents are walking this road one day at a time, facing each new challenge with strength and love.
We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden on Vincent and Joni as they focus on being present for their son. Your donation will go toward medical costs, travel to and from the hospital, time off work, and all the other expenses that come with navigating a NICU stay and an uncertain medical future.
More than anything, we appreciate your prayers, love, and support as this little fighter continues his journey toward healing.
