Hello all, my name is Sarah, and for those who don't know, my best friend is Ashlynn. And right now Ashlynn, her fiance Ben, and her sweet kitty Sabine need our help. They are in Asheville, NC right now and for those who are unaware of the situation there right now, that area got hit hard by hurricane Helene. Roads going in and out are still out due to many being damaged or destroyed by the storm otherwise I would barrel up there and bring them to my house in a heartbeat. So instead, I'm making this gofundme to help raise money to help them out during this devastating time. All money received will go directly to them as Ashlynn is set up as the beneficiary.

UPDATE and MORE INFORMATION: They have now that been able to secure drinking water and fuel. And they have power! Also I want to clarify what the money will be used for, for full transparency, and according to Ashlynn. They needed to get there brakes replaced and the driver's side front wheel bearing on their shared vehicle fixed prior to the hurricane. Now with this chaos and resource shortage, having their car breakdown would be mean:

-they couldn't be able to provide for themselves

-they would become a burden for their local network which is already overwhelmed

-they can't travel to volunteer and provide aide for their community

Ashlynn's job is absolutely wonderful (she works remotely )and has been informed she will not see a lapse in payment and they have been very understanding of their situation. Ben, however, worked in Biltmore Village and we're unsure of when he'll be receiving the paycheck he was owed on 10/1 or if he still has his job moving forward.

The last estimate they received for their car repairs was for ~$3k and we're asking for an additional $1k just to help supplement Ben's delayed (and potentially last chunk) of income.

I'm just a best friend that wants to do everything she can for one of the most important people in her life ya know? I just want to tell you a little bit about our friendship, and why the girl is my best friend. It all started when I accidentally punched her in the face, yes you read that right, I did that. It involved a study abroad, having to see a show that night after traveling half way across the work, be sssuuuupppppeeeerrrr jetlagged, a fake tank, a passed out Sarah, and a loud BANG! I woke up swinging, poor Ashlynn didn't even know me. I bought her a drink as an apology, and we then spent everyday together on that study abroad trip. And when we went back to our college, we still spent almost every day together. She helped me get out of a toxic relationship, she supported me as I moved across the country to follow my dream career, she has seen me at my lowest, and has celebrated with me at my highest. She is always honest with me (even if the truth hurts), she has been a sounding board for my problems, she doesn't judge me in my wild decisions, and she has ALWAYS been there for me. She is my person. And I hope this little blurb about our friendship let you get to know her better, and see what an amazing human she is. And Ben, well obviously I wouldn't let just any guy marry my best friend right? He has a heart of gold, and always shows up for his friends. He's the type of person to give you the shirt off his back of you needed it. He is such a gentle soul and a giant teddy bear. I know I could cry on his shoulder and he would be there for me, and feed me ice cream till I felt better. They both mean the world to me, so again I thank you for your time and helping in any way you can.
