On May 9th, my 36yr old niece, Ashley, suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke around her brain stem and was rushed to Roseville Sutter Trauma Center, in Roseville, CA. On the 10th, the bleed grew and we were told to prepare our family for her passing. Well... she survived and as of today is waving, signing I love you, giving us thumbs up, and some peace signs! She nods and shakes her head as well, so there are definitely cognitive actions/reactions going on. She is still intubated and has been unable to write and will have permanent deficits. Her returning to her career as a hairstylist/make-up artist is in all probability never going to happen, with her most likley needing to re-learn how to stand, walk, speak, read and write. We're getting there, but she has a LONG road ahead of her. Her 10-year-old son is with his father, but Ashley and her son are in need of financial support.
We humbly ask for anything you can spare. Every penny will go to her conservatorship, to be used for her bills, long-term care, physical therapy, etc., and to help support her son. Thank you. #WaveForAshley
