Aid for Artist's Healing Journey

Sometimes life changes come unexpected.

*Update as of August 20th.- I was just denied short-term disability. I currently have no source of income coming in until I return back to work. I have physical therapy 2 days a week in Manhattan and I do in home physical therapy twice a day to get my shoulder back in a working motion. Right now it's safe to say that it's about 45% movement, and the ability to lift about 10 lb. While all of this is great news, financially this is the worst I have ever been. I have no money coming in and I have no way to change that.

What a donation helps with:

-The remaining surgery costs for what insurance doesn't pay for.

-Months of physical therapy.

-The help with Rent, Food, basic bills while unable to work and have any sort of income coming in.

-On the late evening of 6/18, I was involved in a bicycle accident. I hit a dark slab of cement with my front tire of my bike that sat on the edge of the bike lane. The impact resulted in me falling on the right side of my body with the majority of impact being my right shoulder, rolling into the street.

After spending the night in an emergecy room in my town, beyond the spots of roadrash on the right side of my body, I was then told that I have 4 broken ribs, a clean break of my Clavicle bone, and torn Coracoacromial ligaments surrounding it.

After being released that early morning, I set an appointment to be seen by a surgeon in lower Manhattan, and it was there that my injuries were worse than once thought because of the location of the break, being told that I would be out of work for a few months with emergency surgery beginning on Thursday June 26th.

With the right side of my upper body not in use for the next 3-5 months, I have to have this time away from work. I have lost the income of my job, and my hobby/career as an Artist. I am no longer able to continue my career for either here in New York City until time allows. This is already drastically impacting my finances in which I have nothing coming in.

I never thought I would be a person to ask for help in this matter, mainly because of pride and embarrassment, but in this case fear leads the way to my recovery as I ask for help from those I know and love, friend to friend.

Any donation that is given would be used for covering the remaining cost of surgery of what my insurance won't, and the months of physical therapy. Donations will also be put towards the necessities such as food, rent, and the basic bills to help while this long enduring healing process begins.
