My name is Reagan. Five years ago, I got myself a friend who I promised to give the best life possible to. Through moves, life changes, and breakups, my cat Apollo never left my side. He was always at the door to greet me, always beside my head when I slept, and company in the brightest and darkest times. I have introduced him to almost all of my friends and family, and he loves sitting in a stranger's lap for even more attention. When I brought home his rescue brother, they started off on the wrong foot but quickly became cuddle buddies and constant companions to one another. He knows how to sit and stand on his hind legs. His favorite treats are tuna, chicken, and maybe a bite of turkey sandwich meat if he's lucky!

Apollo was admitted to urgent care on May 2nd after I noticed he was acting lethargic and rejecting food and water. He has been there since as the vets work hard to get to the bottom of what is making him so sick. With the knowledge we have now, it seems there's a serious infection in his abdomen, causing fluid buildup and infection. He was taken for emergency surgery on May 4th to drain fluids and send them for testing. We are trying to determine if it is a viral, fungal, or bacterial infection now. He is being tube-fed, kept on painkillers, and on IV for fluid intake. The vets are saying I should take him to a primary vet, to get at home feeding since he is not eating there, and I cannot keep him at urgent care for much longer.

I have been visiting him every day after work, staying up late for every vet update, continuing to try and stay strong for my furry kid. I always joked about going full John Wick for this cat. He's my ride or die. Apollo's vet bills keep going up by the day. I work a minimum wage job full-time. I'm working tirelessly to pay off my personal debt, and this on top of that has caused me even more stress on top of my cat not being home. I have almost maxed out the financial aid I have been given through the vet. With no other option, I am relying on the generosity of friends and strangers alike to support me through this trying time. The amount I am requesting help with is going to be less than what I'm predicting I'll pay, and I will try to figure out the rest on my own.

Update 5/6 evening: test game back positive for FIP. We finally have a diagnosis. I will get treatment plans tomorrow morning and hopefully pick up my son tomorrow or the day after.

Edit 5/8 I brought Apollo home last night. He still has no appetite. The diagnosis is as follows:
Feline Infectious Peritonitis, anorexia, abdominal exploratory surgery, anemia, electrolyte abnormalities, elevated total bilirubin.
Last night, Apollo ate almost all of the wet food i put out for him. It wasnt much, but it was enough to restore my hope. Please keep Apollo in your thoughts as I do everything I can to get him eating.

Thank you for anything and everything.
