Hello my name is Gina mother of 3 beautiful daughters, and I am writing on behalf of my 17-year-old daughter, Angelina Irizarry, who recently suffered a stroke and subsequently underwent a life-saving craniotomy. This traumatic and unexpected medical emergency has not only taken a physical and emotional toll on our family, but has also created a significant financial burden that we are struggling to manage.
Angelina is a bright, resilient young woman who was active in school and full of life before her stroke. Since her surgery, she has faced a long and challenging recovery process, which includes ongoing physical therapy, neurological care, follow-up appointments, and rehabilitation services. These are vital for her recovery and long-term health.
Unfortunately, the costs of her treatment—both past and continuing—have placed a serious strain on our family's finances. We are doing everything we can to support her, but we are in urgent need of financial assistance to cover medical bills, therapy, medications, and transportation to and from her appointments.
We are humbly asking for your support—whether through financial aid, medical grants, or any available assistance programs that you know of. Any help, no matter the amount, would make a tremendous difference in ensuring that Angelina receives the care and support she needs to recover and reclaim her future at Burke Rehabilitation.
Thank you for considering our situation with compassion and care.
Update July 8th 2025:
Hi everyone, just wanted to share a quick update and say thank you again for all the love, support, and donations so far.
Angelina is now officially in rehab She’s working hard every day to regain her strength, and although it’s been really tough, she’s showing so much courage and determination.
We also want to let you know that part of the donations have already gone toward covering her hospital bills, and another portion is now helping with the rehab center costs. Your support is literally helping her heal and we can’t thank you enough for that.
Please keep sharing and praying. Her recovery is just getting started, and every bit of help still makes a big difference.
With love,
Gina & Family
