Aid for Ajie's Brain Injury
Donation protected
Alejandro Quinto (44) is a loving husband and a father to his three children: Jhianne (14), Arikinne (13), Riley (10). Back in 2013, he immigrated from the Philippines and worked countless months to acquire enough to support his family of five (which followed two years after Alejandro arrived) in Canada. Currently, the Quinto family is living in Regina, Saskatchewan. Ajie works two jobs as a Continuing Care Aid (CCA). He’s always been a responsible and hardworking individual. Outside of work, his family and friends describe him to be kind, selfless, generous, and lively. There isn’t a dull moment with Ajie.
Just recently on Friday, April 3, 2020, his wife, Annalyn, got a phone call. Ajie was working a double shift that day and he expressed to his wife that he wasn’t feeling good and asked if she could come to his workplace with the kids. He reported having cold sweats, dizziness, high blood pressure, and he had vomited. A co-worker of his was there with him and immediately called the ambulance. 0Alejandro suffers from hypertension, diabetes, and just last year had an aortic valve replacement. When he arrived at the ER, he was still conscious and was able to tell the doctor what he was experiencing. Shortly after reporting to the hospital, he deteriorated quickly and fell into a coma. Due to his high blood pressure, there was a large bleed in his brain wherein he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. An EVD (External Ventricular Drain) was then placed. His family has had limited access to seeing him due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The doctors say that his chances of recovery do not look optimistic and would be a long road to recover once he does come out of it. As of recently, Ajie is being tube fed, an OGT has been placed, and his sedation has been increased to ensure comfortability. He has also been breathing over the machine and draining blood as expected which shows signs of hope in recovery.
This incident has left little source of income within the family. Any prayers or financial donations towards his family during this time of struggle would be greatly appreciated. If you aren’t able to donate to support, please share this link in hopes to help Ajie’s family stay on their feet. Thank you so much.
