Hi, I'm a 53-year-old mother of a neurodivergent adult and a neurotypical teenager. For years, I was able to support my family through freelance work, but the pandemic made that increasingly difficult. I then took a job as a special education student aide while supplementing my income by working as a direct support professional for two young adults and at a local farm during the summer and fall seasons.

I truly love the work I do, but unfortunately, it doesn't provide enough income to cover my family's needs. I recently underwent shoulder surgery and won't qualify for disability coverage until the school year begins. I'm asking for a little help to get through my recovery and keep up with my bills during this time.
