Aid Finn's Recovery in ICU
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Taylor and I am the auntie to this sweet happy bubba Finn.
On tuesday Finn went in for a tube placement and to remove his adnoids.
After surgery he had a pretty severe stridor from what was assumed to be irritation from the breathing tube.
The stridor didn't improve with time or several different meds so Finn was admitted for an overnight night stay.
As the afternoon progressed Finn seemed to be improving. After dinner hough, his stridor got much worse and he was working much harder to breathe.
As we settled in for bed things continued to decline, he was then put on some humidified oxygen and that helped for a bit but then eventually didn't.
Than he was given high flow oxygen and chest and neck X-rays taken. The oxygen again helped for a bit and then things continued to decline, quickly.
At one point his oxygen was in the low 50s and heartrate was almost 200.
A code blue was called. 15 medical staff came in to help our baby. So many folks, all talking and working quickly to help our boy. Many IVs placed, one even into his shin.
Than it was determined the issue is inflammation in his lower throat. So not from the breathing tube but not sure the cause.
Next step was to go back to the OR, try to identify the reason for the inflammation and also place a long term breathing tube so our boy can rest, heal and gain some strength.
He is now in the ICU, sedated and on paralytics until things begin to improve.
Finn has started improving in some ways but we are still not closer to getting the breathing tube removed.
Mom and dad have stayed by his side every day.
We are asking for prayers, thoughts, and any other aide to help then get threw this very rough time. Thank you all for your support.
