I'm Jacque Peck, and I'm reaching out with a plea for my 8-month-old nephew, Finnegan Fox, who's in the midst of a courageous battle against a rare and severe illness. He was rushed into emergency brain surgery and is facing a long recovery in the hospital.

It all started with a sudden fever and worrisome symptoms that prompted Jillian and Justin to seek immediate medical attention for Finnegan. The heartbreaking diagnosis: an extremely rare blood infection, septicemia and complications extending to a Subdural Empyema on the outside of his brain.

The journey that followed involved rapid decisions, countless medical procedures, and an emergency brain surgery that left our family in awe of Finn's resilience.

Finnegan, our little champion, emerged from surgery with a contagious smile, but his road to recovery is far from over. He'll remain in the hospital for another 4-6 weeks, possibly undergoing additional procedures. The medical team continues their diligent efforts to determine the root cause.

The weight on Jillian and Justin's shoulders is immeasurable as they navigate the emotional and financial toll of their child's illness.
