My name is Michelle. My ex-husband, Fred, died suddenly and unexpectedly right before the end of Fernando's (our son's) junior year in college.

Fernando was the most important thing in Fred's life, and he was so proud of all of his accomplishments both in and out of school. Fernando is an only child. All of Fred's immediate family reside in Portugal. This has left Fernando, at age 20, with the monumental task of going through and cleaning out his father's residence while navigating the end of his junior year, all while mourning the loss of his Dad.

Although Fred and I have shared in Fernando's expenses, without the support of his father, he will be faced with the added stress of finishing out his last year of college and starting a new life without the love and support of one of the most important figures in his life. My hope is that family and friends who have asked how they can help at this difficult time will consider giving to help Fernando with his education expenses.
