Hello family and friends, 

Some of you may already know me and know what I have been going through. 

But to those who don’t, my name is Evangelina Galaviz. 

I lost my mother six years ago, didn’t have a drink to numb the pain, dealt with it and continued life as it is. 

Then I lost my father this past December 2025. Realizing I lost both parents led me to excessively drink and vape to numb the pain away. It’s been really tough and life has been different with my parents being gone, emotionally and physically. My heart feels like it’s been ripped out. 

This led me to the emergency department a week before today. I was diagnosed with pericardial effusion, a buildup of excess fluid in the area surrounding the heart and crackling sound and water in my lungs. 

This is not who I am. This was DEFINITELY a wake up call for me. 

Other than the number of medications prescribed, my doctor also advised I purchase a breathing machine that my insurance will not cover. 

Temporarily my doctor has me on leave to monitor my heart. This reduces my income. 

I ask you, my family and friends, and those who don’t know me, to help me. Anything will be helpful. 

I appreciate you guys so much.

P.S. Please cautious on what you do and how it affects your body. Take it easy on drinks and completely stop vaping!
