- Hi, my name is Liz Fifer, I am the mother of Erica Duffy and also the grandmother of Erica's 3 beautiful children. I am asking, actually begging for anyone that can help my family due to this recent unexpected accident that my daughter Erica had October 9th. Erica had saved some money to get her children Taco bell because they have been doing so well in school, well they rent an apartment which has an elevator (they live on the 2nd floor) as Erica stepped into the elevator, with all the drinks in her hands, she unexpectedly slipped, holding onto the children's drinks because they hardly ever eat out she couldn't dream of them not having their special dinner, Erica stepped into the elevator, she slipped, fell backwards, her head hit the handrail, and then her head hit the floor, she did save the drinks however she went to the ER, they did a scan of her head and she had a brain bleed and seizures.
Erica was then transported to Tampa General Hospital on Davis Island where they have the best Head trauma with the best of Neurosurgeons. Erica has been in the ICU and having seizures, her speech is affected, she is unable to walk without assistance her motor skills are all affected from this trauma at this time. Erica will be in the hospital for an unknown amount of rehab at TGH on Davis Island. Her children have not been able to see her, their lives have been turned upside down.
It's hard for me to ask for help, but I am truly at a loss as I work full time, i need assistance with before and after school programs, medical bills, taking care of the children feeding, clothing, school activities, gas money to travel to Davis Island it's about 1.5 hour ride to visit. I am asking for everyones thoughts and prayers so she may get her life back so she can take care of herself and her beautiful children. Every little bit helps, thank-you from the bottom of my heart ,Erica, and also Esme, Hahn, and Jack.
