My name is Tammy Ward-Schoener. A lot of you know me and some of you know or have heard of my granddaughter Emme Helton. Emme lives in Florida with her boyfriend Tyler, her two dogs Apollo, Aphrodite and their bunny rabbit. Today, while Emme and Tyler were at work, their house caught on fire. It went up in flames. Thank God the wonderful neighbor was home and ran to the house to try to break in to rescue the dogs, however, he wasn't able to. In the meantime, 911 was called and several fire crews from the surrounding areas arrived. Once the fire crews gained access through the roof, they were able to start the search for the dogs and assess the fire.
Several firefighters in the house found Aphrodite under Emme's bed unconscious. The firefighters carried her out and a wonderful police officer named Josh Grievson performed CPR on Aphrodite. Two of the firefighters transported Aphrodite to a local vet. Apollo ran out the door, down the street, and their wonderful neighbors were able to catch Apollo and bring him home. The bunny was rescued as well. Emme rushed home from work and Tyler works out of town. He did leave work and drive home. Several family members came to offer support and help.
Once the house was safe to enter, everyone was able to enter the house. The kitchen is totally destroyed. Their furniture is ruined, their clothing, all personal items, decor, appliances and more. Nothing is salvageable. They have a vet bill for two dogs. Aphrodite is doing good and is now home. Apollo was treated for minor injuries.
To start this gofundme, they asked me to set a goal to reach from donations. I can't put a dollar amount. There's no way to put an amount on this tragedy. I had to add an amount for a goal in order to continue with this post. We are grateful for any donations. If you aren’t able to donate please just keep them in your prayers.
Our family wants to give a big shout out and thank you to the fire departments, the police department and the neighbors. We are so grateful for everything you did. You all are truly heroes today.
Please feel free to share the post.
