On August 13th, 2025, Emily Kapszukiewics was suffering from a mental crisis while waiting for her plane from Chicago to Portland. She sought help at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, IL. She recognized the signs of an oncoming panic attack, so she hopped in a Lyft and asked to head to the nearest hospital's ER. The Lyft driver brought her to the wrong entrance. This is where the struggle began.

Instead of allowing her or escorting her to the proper department, security held her against her will and only made the situation worse. Things escalated quickly and Emily has been living through hell ever since. She's 2100 miles from home, away from her family, and in dire need of help with her incoming medical bills.

I'm organizing this on her behalf to make sure that once the dust settles, she can land on her feet.
