My greatest friend and childhood mentor, Ed Peddell has been affected by a tragic house fire! Some of you may know him and some may not! Ed needs our help, as he was the one that was always there for US when we were growing up!

When I say US, I can say that was a community where Ed taught and mentored many. Drama club, religious classes, pageant shows, and so much more!

Now, OUR friends, he needs our help!

For over 43 years, Ed Peddell has been a pillar of strength, love, and dedication in South Florida. As a veteran educator, community activist, and selfless foster and adoptive father, Ed spend his life opening his heart and home to children in need-adopting five boys from the foster care system and raising them with unwavering love.

But now, Ed and his family need our help.

A devastating fire, which started at a neighbouring house, quickly spread and destroyed Ed’s home. Though his sons were inside at the time, they all escaped without injury. But the home- and everything inside was lost!

As some of you may know, Ed battled cancer just a few years ago, and against all odds, He won that battle! That courageous fight, however came with a tremendous financial burden! Ed had to dig deeply into his personal savings to cover medical expenses that insurance did not fully cover.

Now, after overcoming cancer and dedicating his life to caring for children, he is once again facing hardship-and his insurance will not cover the full costs of rebuilding his home.

This would be a heartbreaking blow for anyone, but for a man who has always put others first, it’s especially devastating.

Ed has always shown up for others.Whether in the classroom, in the community, or at home with the children he’s raised on his own-he’s been a light for so many!! It’s time to shine that light back on him!
